Germany, Heer. A Cholm Shield, Relic Condition consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac 62 mm (w) x 55(Heer Cholmschild). Constructed of silvered magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a raised Heer style German national eagle clutching an Iron Cross defaced by a central swastika, situated above an inscription of CHOLM 1942, affixed with three reverse attachment prongs to a field grey wool backer with an intact paper liner, unmarked, measuring 40. 20 mm (w) x 65. 70 mm (h), demonstrating extensive oxidation and deterioration of the
